Dormitory
Private accommodation
There are eleven student dormitories in Würzburg, all run by the Studeierendennwerk. As a THWS student, you can apply for one of these rooms. Please note that only a limited number of rooms are available, so you should adhere to the deadlines and apply as early as possible.
Depending on the dormitory, you can choose between private apartments and rooms in shared apartments. Information about the furnishing and location of the dormitories can be found on the Studierendenwerk website.
In addition to the Studierendenwerk other organizations such as 522 Apartunities also offer apartments. The Studierendenwerk has compiled an overview of other housing options outside of the Studierendenwerk.
You can also search for accommodation on your own. However, the housing market in Würzburg is very competitive, so you should start your search early. To help you find new accommodation, we’ve selected a few helpful websites:
WG-Gesucht
HomeCompany
ImmoScout24
Immowelt
Facebook-Group: THWS – Internationale Studierende Würzburg
One more thing to keep in mind when looking for an apartment: In Germany, rooms are usually rented unfurnished. So, unless the listing explicitly states that the room is furnished, you’ll have to bring all the necessary furniture and appliances yourself. Many students who go abroad or move to another city for an internship rent out their rooms in Würzburg temporarily. You can often find such listings on Facebook, classifieds, or on the sites mentioned above.
